Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lima / City Tour Lima

Pick up at the airport and accommodation in a hotel in Lima.

At 2:30 p.m., we will begin our City Tour. Transfers from hotels will start from 2:00 p.m.

We will enjoy a fascinating tour of Lima, exploring its three stages: Ancestral Lima, Colonial Lima, and Modern Lima. We will start with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid,” an ancient ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century AD, considered a sacred site by the Incas.

Next, we will head to the Historic Center of Lima, where we will explore what used to be the old Lima Square. Here, we will admire over fifty colonial monuments and buildings, including the Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, Municipal Palace, Archbishop’s Palace, and the Cathedral Basilica, among other iconic places. We will continue our tour by visiting the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank, where we can appreciate the Collection of Treasures of Peru, which includes ceramics, gold objects, and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures. We will also explore the Monumental Complex of San Francisco, which houses the largest collection of colonial religious art in America and is known for its underground crypts, the “Catacombs.” Finally, we will head to the Contemporary Area of Lima, where we will observe the main constructions and residential areas, including the Olive Grove of San Isidro, Miraflores, Larcomar, and the Love Park.

Our tour will conclude at 6:00 p.m. We will spend the night in Lima.

Day 2: Ballestas Islands and Huacachina Oasis

At 4:30 a.m., hotel pickup will commence and we will head towards the city of Paracas, arriving approximately at 9:00 a.m. Once there, we will proceed to the “El Chaco” pier to embark on a speedboat that will take us to the Ballestas Islands.

Our first stop on the speedboat will be at the enigmatic Candelabra, a huge trident-shaped geoglyph over 2500 years old. Here, we will explore various theories about its origin, which could be related to ancient pirates or even the creators of the famous Nazca Lines.

Continuing our journey, we will reach the Ballestas Islands, three small islands that harbor impressive marine and ecological biodiversity in Peru. We will be amazed by the immense colonies of sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and the numerous seabirds that populate the area.

Although landing on the islands is not permitted to preserve the ecosystem and not disturb the animals, we will get close enough to observe them in their natural habitat as we circumnavigate the three islands on a tour of approximately one hour. Then, we will return to the Paracas pier.

Afterwards, we will continue our journey to Ica, where we will visit an artisanal winery that produces the famous Peruvian Pisco. Our local guide will take us on a tour of the winery facilities and explain the ancient process of Pisco and wine production. After the tour, clients will have the opportunity to taste the different varieties of Pisco and wine produced by the winery, and they can also purchase these products if they wish.

Next, we will head to the Oasis of Huacachina, which is only 5 km from the city center. In this beautiful oasis, visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the place and stroll around looking for good photo spots and restaurants (free time).

At 4:00 p.m. (or the agreed-upon time), the exciting sand buggy ride will begin through the dunes surrounding the Huacachina lagoon. In addition, the huge dunes surrounding the lagoon allow visitors to practice one of the most fascinating sports in the area, known as Sandboarding, which involves sliding on a board over the desert sand.

Finally, we will return to Lima, arriving at your hotel at approximately 10:30 p.m.
