Day 1: City Tour Lima

Llegada a Lima y City Tour

Upon arrival at Lima airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the city.

At 2:30 p.m., your exciting City Tour of Lima will commence, with passenger pick-up from hotels starting at 2:00 p.m.

During the tour, you will explore Lima in its three stages: Ancestral, Colonial, and Modern. You will begin with a panoramic view of the “Pirámide Pucllana,” an ancient ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century AD, considered a Sacred Town of the Incas.

Next, you will head to Lima’s Historic Center, where you will discover what was once the old Lima Square. You will marvel at over fifty colonial monuments and buildings, including the Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor, Government Palace, Municipal Palace, Archbishop’s Palace, and the Cathedral Basilica, among others.

Continuing the tour, you will visit the Museum of the Central Reserve Bank, where you can admire the Treasures of Peru Collection, including ceramics, gold, and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures. You will also explore the San Francisco Monumental Complex, home to the largest display of colonial religious art in America, with its main attraction being the underground crypts known as the “Catacombs.”

Finally, you will head to Lima’s Contemporary Area, where you will admire the city’s main buildings and residential areas, including the Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores, Larcomar, and the Love Park.

The tour will conclude at 6:00 p.m. You will spend the night in Lima, having explored the historical and modern wealth of the Peruvian capital.

Day 2: Ballestas Islands - Huacachina

At 4:30 a.m., you will be picked up from the hotel to head to the city of Paracas. We estimate arriving in Paracas around 9:00 a.m. Subsequently, we will proceed to the “El Chaco” pier to board a motorboat that will take us to the Ballestas Islands.

Our first stop on the motorboat will be at the enigmatic Candelabro, an enormous geoglyph located on the sandy summit resembling a trident with over 2500 years of history. We will explore the various theories about its origin, which could be linked to ancient pirates or even the creators of the famous Nazca Lines.

Continuing our journey, we will reach the Ballestas Islands, three small islands that host an impressive marine and ecological richness of Peru. We will marvel at the immense colonies of sea lions and Humboldt penguins, as well as the numerous guano birds flying overhead.

Although landing on the islands is prohibited to preserve the ecosystem and not disturb the animals, we will approach close enough to observe them interacting in their natural habitat. We will circumnavigate the three islands on a journey of approximately one hour and then return to the Paracas pier.

Afterward, we will continue our journey to Ica. We will visit a craft winery where Peruvian brandy known as Pisco is produced. Here, our local guide will take us on a tour of the winery’s facilities and explain the ancient method of Pisco and wine production. After the tour, our clients will have the opportunity to taste the different varieties of Pisco and wine produced by this winery and, if desired, purchase these products.

Then, we will head to the Huacachina Oasis, located just 5 km from the city center. In this beautiful oasis, visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the place and stroll around looking for good photo opportunities and visiting restaurants (free time).

At 4:00 p.m. (coordinated time), the buggy ride through the dunes surrounding the Huacachina lagoon will begin. Additionally, the vast dunes surrounding the lagoon allow visitors to engage in one of the most thrilling sports in the area, known as sandboarding, which involves sliding on a board over the desert sand.

Finally, we will return to Lima, where we estimate arriving at your hotel around 10:30 p.m. You will spend the night in Lima.
