South Valley

We start the tour with the pick up of the group in their respective hotels 8:00 am to 8:30 am. we will have a 40 minutes trip to the first point of visit called Tipon an impressive large cultivation space containing 12 terraces that are currently cultivated, whose walls were built with finely carved stones. Even more impressive is the irrigation system that is still serving agriculture. We will continue our tour in Pikillaqta. It presents characteristics of a large urban center corresponding to the time of development of the Wari empire, with more than a thousand buildings including squares, colcas (food deposits), courts or houses, temples, long narrow streets with buildings that were up to 4 stories high. Andahuaylillas is a typical Andean village from colonial times of unique origin and architecture. It highlights its catholic temple of the colonial time with a beautiful decoration and mural painting of the XVII and XVIII century known as “The Sistine Chapel of America”. Saylla Cusco town where you can enjoy the delicious pork rinds (optional), return to Cusco at 3:00 pm.
