Arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel after meeting you at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport.
At 13:00 hrs, our city tour will begin. We will start with a visit to the impressive Temple of QORICANCHA. Then, we will drive to the outstanding archaeological centers, such as SAQSAYWAMAN, known for its imposing polished and molded stones that offer a unique panoramic view of Cusco. We will continue to the mystical Inca temple of QENQO, used in ancient times for religious rituals. Afterwards, we will explore the control and military center of the Incas called PUKA PUKARA and visit the enigmatic Temple of TAMBOMACHAY, known for its water fountains. The tour will end around 18:30 hrs with the return to the hotel. Overnight in Cusco.
We will begin the excursion at 08:00 am visiting the archaeological complex of PISAQ, noted for its impressive agricultural terraces. Then, you will have the opportunity to explore Pisaq’s typical handicraft market and bargain with local vendors.
Afterwards, we will continue to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch. Afterwards, we will visit the city of OLLANTAYTAMBO, called the “living Inca city” for its original urban design. Here, we will explore the archaeological park, which houses the Temple of the Sun and other fascinating structures. Later, we will head to the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, a 1 ½ hour trip. Upon arrival, our staff will take you to your assigned hotel, and a local tour guide will visit you to coordinate the next day’s tour. Night in Aguas Calientes
At the agreed time, you will take a 25-minute bus ride to the entrance of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. There, you will enjoy a tour of approximately 2 hours guided by an expert who will show you and explain all aspects of this world wonder.
After the guided tour, you will have free time for lunch on your own. Then, you will return to Cusco by train, with a stop in Ollantaytambo. From there, a bus will take you back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.
At 08:30 a.m., you will begin the journey to the MARAS salt mines, famous for its “salt mines” dating back to pre-Inca times. Then, you will visit the archaeological site of MORAY, known for its huge natural pits used as agricultural terraces in the form of concentric rings. You will also explore CHINCHERO, where you will visit the church and a textile production center that employs ancestral techniques. The tour will end around 15:00 hrs. Overnight in Cusco.
At 08:30 a.m., we will begin our tour of the South Valley of Cusco. We will visit two important archaeological complexes: “TIPÓN”, a unique sample of Inca hydraulic engineering, and then “PIKILLACTA”, a pre-Inca archaeological group. You will also visit ANDAHUAYLILLAS, where you will find the picturesque church known as “The Sistine of America”. Along the way, you will see the villages of Saylla, Tipon and Oropesa, known for their culinary specialties. Return to Cusco around 15:30 hrs. Overnight in Cusco.
