The Inca Jungle tour of 4 days and 3 nights, is an exciting adventure in the Cusco region is an alternative Inca Trail to reach Machu Picchu. This adventure includes a day of biking and 3 days of hiking, crossing mountains and high jungle, rivers, native villages, coca plantations, coffee and a huge variety of fruit trees, you will walk through beautiful parts of the Inca Trail, ending the second day of hiking with a relaxing and healthy bath in the hot springs of Cocalmayo (100% recommended), at the end of the tour you will visit Machu Picchu at its best.

Itinerary

Day 1: CUSCO – INKA JUNGLE TRAIL – ABRA MÁLAGA – SANTA MARÍA – CAMINO INCA.

You will be picked up from the hotel at 7:30am and we will travel by private tourist bus for 3 hours to Abra Malaga (4300 masl) we will make a brief stop to appreciate the scenery then we will start our downhill biking for about 3 hours (inka jungle trail). On the way we will see a small archaeological complex Huamanmarca and also the changing climate of the jungle brow we can appreciate plantations of coca, coffee and exotic fruits such as mango, pineapple and papaya which you can pick them and enjoy their natural flavor. We arrive at Santa Maria small town where we spend the night in a basic hostel.

Day 2: SANTA MARÍA - INCA TRAIL - SANTA TERESA - THERMAL BATHS.

After breakfast we have to walk this day is a bit long but rewarding we will find parts of original Inca trail we will see waterfalls and abundant flora and fauna and almost afternoon we will visit the natural thermal medicinal baths of Cocal Mayo and you can relax drinking an energy drink such as beer cuzqueña dinner and overnight in Santa Teresa small tourist town famous for its hot springs and its friendly and particularly hospitable people.

Day 3: SANTA TERESA – HIDROELÉCTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES (MACHUPICCHU PUEBLO).

Breakfast very early after the indications of the guide we start with the 2 hours walk approx. (from here it is possible to take a train to Aguas Calientes “Machu Picchu town” with an additional cost), Then we will walk from Inka Jungle to Machu Picchu for about 3 hours more until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village) on the way you can see various insects and walk along the banks of the river and with an impressive landscape and can be seen in the distance the mountain of Putucusi and San Miguel finally arrived at the town of Aguas Calientes in the evening a dinner where our guide will inform us in detail about our tours in Machu Picchu, overnight in basic hotel with private bathroom and hot water.

Day 4: TOURS MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO.

This day we will wake up very early and at 4:30 am we will start with a 1:30 minutes walk to Machu Picchu arriving at Machu Picchu at 6 am. You will have a guided tour of 2 hours in the main sectors of Machu Picchu (there is the possibility to go to Waynapicchu tickets are booked in advance) then you will have free time until approximately 4:30 pm when the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu closes. At the time indicated by your guide you will take the train to Ollantaytambo and from there we will pick you up by bus arriving to Cusco in approximately 4 hours.
