This exciting 9-day itinerary in Cusco combines culture, nature and adventure. It includes the exploration of Cusco and its archaeological parks, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, the Colored Mountain and a tour of the white city of Arequipa through the islands of Lake Titicaca before returning home from Juliaca.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco / City Tour

Arrival in the city of Cusco, reception at the Velasco Astete International Airport and transfer to the hotel.

At 13:00 hrs, the city tour begins. We start with a visit to the Temple of QORICANCHA. Then, we go to the archaeological centers, such as SAQSAYWAMAN, with its strategic location and huge polished stones. We continue to the mystical Inca temple of QENQO, where religious sacrifices were performed. We continue to the control and military center of the Incas, PUKA PUKARA, and finish visiting the Temple of TAMBOMACHAY with its impressive water fountains. Return to the hotel around 18:30 hrs. Night in Cusco.

Day 2: Super Sacred Valley

The tour starts at 06:30 am. First, we visit CHINCHERO to explore its church and archaeological park. We also have the opportunity to visit a textile production center with ancestral techniques. Then, we continue to MORAY, famous for its circular terraces, and the SALINERAS de Maras, with about 5000 salt ponds still in use.

Afterwards, we head to Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch. Later, we visit OLLANTAYTAMBO, called the “living Inca city”, with its impressive Temple of the Sun and other structures. Then, we take the train to Aguas Calientes, where we are picked up by the hotel staff. In the evening, a local tour guide visits us to coordinate the next day’s tour. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

At the agreed time, we board the bus to reach the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in a 25-minute trip. We visit the citadel for approximately 2 hours, with a guide who explains all its details.

Afterwards, you have free time for lunch on your own before boarding the train back to Cusco, with a stop in Ollantaytambo. From there, a bus takes you back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 4: Mountain of 7 Colors Vinicunca

At 04:30 a.m., we pick you up at your hotel to start the trip to the 7 Colors Mountain, Vinicunca. We arrive at Cusipata and then to Qomer Qocha, where we have breakfast. We prepare for the approximately 1 hour hike to the top of Vinicunca, which is located at 5,200 meters above sea level. You will have time to take pictures before returning to Qomer Qocha.

Afterwards, we have lunch and return to Cusco. At 21:00 hrs, we transfer you to the bus terminal for the trip to Puno.

Day 5: Puno - Uros Island - Taquile

To fully enjoy this exciting tour, it is advisable to leave Cusco the night before, preferably in a comfortable sleeper bus, which will allow you to travel smoothly to Puno and arrive at your destination early the next day. The bus from Cusco to Puno leaves at 21:00 hrs and arrives in Puno at 05:30 am the next day. Our team will be waiting for you in Puno to provide assistance and transfer you to the designated hotel, where you can leave your luggage, freshen up and, if you wish, enjoy an additional breakfast or on your own.

ITINERARY

Minutes before 07:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Puno to take you to the main port. There, you will embark on an exciting journey on the highest navigable lake in the world, the majestic “Titicaca”. Our first stop will be at one of the Uros islands, whose 3,000-year-old culture is reflected in the construction of their floating homes using totora, a local plant. You will have the opportunity to learn how they build their homes and gain fascinating insights into their way of life. In addition, you can choose to sail on a traditional totora reed boat.

Next, we will head to the island of Taquile, which in colonial times served as a prison. On this island, you will be able to interact with the local inhabitants, who will show you their skill in textile handicrafts and share some of their ancestral customs. Day 6: Puno - Colca

At 06:00 – 06:30 a.m., our vehicle will pick up travelers at their respective hotels in Puno to embark on a fascinating journey to Chivay in Caylloma.

On the way, we will make strategic stops, each accompanied by an explanation from our guide:

Lagunillas: This is the habitat of the Andean Flamingos and is located approximately 2 hours from Puno.
Patahuasi and Pampa Cañahuas: In Pampa Cañahuas, you will have the opportunity to visit a restaurant where you can enjoy a coca or muña tea on your own, as well as use the restrooms.
Patapampa: Located at 4910 meters above sea level, this is the highest point between the two cities and is known as the viewpoint of the volcanoes. From here, you can admire impressive views of Misti, Ampato, Hualcahualca and other volcanoes. Along the way, we will also see vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and other Andean animals.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., we will arrive in the town of Chivay. There, we will go to a buffet restaurant to enjoy lunch (lunch not included). Then, we will transfer you to the corresponding hotel, where you can check in and rest.

At the agreed time, we will take you to the relaxing thermal baths of “La Calera” (optional). You will spend the night in Chivay.

Day 7: Cruz del Condor - Arequipa

Early in the morning, we will head to the “Cruz del Condor”, located 41 km from Chivay, a place that offers one of the most spectacular views of the Colca Canyon. Here, you will have the opportunity to witness majestic condor flights, a truly breathtaking experience.

We will then return to Chivay, making stops in the picturesque villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque, as well as the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico. Upon arrival in Chivay, you will have enough time for lunch.

Afterwards, we will continue our trip to the city of Arequipa. The tour will end at approximately 5:00 pm. Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 8:City Tour Arequipa

Ce will start our City Tour at 9:00 hrs from your starting point. Our first stop will take us to the district of Cayma, one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Arequipa. On the way, we will pass through the panoramic “Chilina bride”, which offers beautiful views of the city, its terraces and the Chili River.

In Cayma, we will explore the main square and its church, which dates back to 1544 and today houses the chapel of the Virgin of Candelaria, built by Dominican monks. Then, we will head to the area of Añashuayco, famous for the extraction of the volcanic stone “Sillar”, used in the construction of Arequipa’s colonial buildings. Here, our guide will provide information about the origin and geology of the quarries, and you will be able to witness the hard work involved in this labor.

We will continue to Yanahuara, where we will visit the Main Square with a spectacular view of the city and its volcanoes. Afterwards, we will head to the San Camilo market for an authentic experience and, after the visit, we will move to Arequipa’s Main Square. Here, the guide will provide information about the history and architecture surrounding the square.

We will end our tour leaving the passengers at the entrance of the Santa Catalina Monastery (optional) or, at the request of the passengers, at the Main Square. Overnight in Arequipa.

Day 9:Arequipa / Departure

At the coordinated time, departure transfer to Arequipa airport. End of service.
