The word Waqrapukara is a Quechua word: Waqra = Horn, Pucara = Fortress.
The inhabitants of Llamapuka assure that they are not horns but the standing ears of a llama that alerts the presence of outsiders.
It is divided into 2 parts: The upper part where the rocky spur is located where you can see 2 enclosures separated by a central space, we can also see niches and portals, all these constructions are of ceremonial function.
The lower part is formed by Inca anderia, 5 enclosures and niches.
The tour begins with the pick up from the hotel between 4:30 am to 5:00 am and then head south to the village of Cusipata where we will have a delicious breakfast buffet. continue traveling about 2:30 hours to the beginning of the hike called Santa Lucia.
