Tour Details

The word Waqrapukara is a Quechua word: Waqra = Horn, Pucara = Fortress.
The inhabitants of Llamapuka assure that they are not horns but the standing ears of a llama that alerts the presence of outsiders.
It is divided into 2 parts: The upper part where the rocky spur is located where you can see 2 enclosures separated by a central space, we can also see niches and portals, all these constructions are of ceremonial function.
The lower part is formed by Inca anderia, 5 enclosures and niches.

Itinerary

Waqrapukara

The tour begins with the pick up from the hotel between 4:30 am to 5:00 am and then head south to the village of Cusipata where we will have a delicious breakfast buffet. continue traveling about 2:30 hours to the beginning of the hike called Santa Lucia.
During the walk we will be able to appreciate a great amount of flora and fauna typical of the area until we arrive to our destination Waqrapukara average walk of 1:30 hours, when we arrive to our destination we will have time to have lunch (box luch) that we will be given at the beginning of the walk, at the end of the lunch we will have a guided tour, visiting the following places: Intipunku (“Puerta del Sol”), main square, towers, andenería, Wiracocha’s enclosure.
After the visit to Waqrapukara we will start with the return to Santa Lucia where the vehicle will be waiting for us for our return to Cusco.
